Courses in English for international students – Jean Monnet Chair offer in Summer Semester 2023
In the upcoming Summer Semester we offer two courses conducted in English within the Jean Monnet Chair on Digital Single Market and the Free Flow of Information. These include EU Competition Law and Digital Markets, included in the AMU-PIE offer directed to Erasmus and other international students visiting the University, as well as Bachelor thesis seminar for our students in European Legal Studies.
The class on EU Competition Law and Digital Markets will be taught by dr. Miłosz Malaga. This course covers understanding of:
- characteristics of digital markets and challenges that their specific nature brings for end-users (consumers, citizens), undertakings and digital platforms
- the so-called GAFA’s (Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple) role in shaping these markets
- recent enforcement of EU competition law reacting to these challenges
- newly introduced regulatory framework (the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act) aiming and providing more balance between digital markets actors
- and the way all the above impacts the free flow of information
The bachelor seminar will be provided by prof. Katarzyna Klafkowska-Waśniowska. In the course of the seminar you will be:
- introduced with legal and regulatory framework regarding EU law and free flow of information, including fundamental rights
- guided to conduct research and work on your bachelor thesis
- prepared to describe and critically assess current developments in EU law and policy actions related with free flow of information
Enrolment for these courses takes place in February, in line with agendas dedicated to AMU-PIE courses and European Legal Studies.
