BRITISH LAW CENTRE
The Faculty of Law and Administration offers the possibility to participate in the course Introduction to English law and the law of the European Union. The course is provided by the British Law Centre in Warsaw from 1992 in many academic centres in Poland, and has been provided since 1996 in Poznan. British Law Centre organizes also an annual Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition, judged by a team of expert judges headed by Advocate General Sharpson and both AMU and BLC students are encouraged to participate.
The course offers an introduction to the common law system, analysis of selected aspects of European Union law and international trade issues. The classes take place approximately once a month, according to the schedule settled each year. Students have the possibility to choose either a one year course leading to a certificate award, or a two-year course leading to a diploma award. The course is open not only for law and administration students, but also to interested participants from other departments. It is a fee paying course. Full details on the course structure, fees and modules can be found in brochure (below) or at the BLC site at www.britishlawcentre.co.uk/courses , and the local program coordinator is dr Katarzyna Klafkowska-Waśniowska firstname.lastname@example.org.
